The open market works well for many people, but not for everyone. Some properties are difficult to mortgage or to sell in their current state, and some owners need certainty more than they need the highest possible price. A direct sale gives those owners another option.
We'll always tell you if we think the open market would suit you better.
How buying directly works
We look at the property and the local market, then make a written offer that explains how we've reached it. It will usually be below open-market value, because we take on the cost of the work, the risk and the time it takes to resell.
If you accept, solicitors on both sides handle the sale in the normal way.
